Cancers occurring in the head and neck due to uncontrolled, abnormal proliferation of the cells are called head and neck cancers. These head and neck cancers occur in the squamous cells lining the mucosal surfaces of the head and neck. Hence, they are otherwise also called as squamous cell carcinomas. Head and neck cancers do not include the brain and the eye cancers.
